Intro
Your lawn may have organic debris that covers the yard and makes mowing impossible until the yard is cleaned up. When this happens, your Pro can report a Required Service to complete before the Lawn Mowing Service can be performed.
Q&A Lawn Mowing
What is a Required Service?
A Required Service involves removing organic material such as leaves, sticks, branches, etc. except grass on your lawn. This debris may cover the lawn and make mowing impossible until the yard is cleaned up.
Required Service is interchangeable with Required Cleanup and Cleanups. Different terms may be used in your LawnStarter web account and App, but they refer to the same concept.
What is the difference between Required Service and Recommended Service?
Recommended Service is a service recommended by your Pro that aims to address any potential issues, enhance the overall appearance, and promote the long-term health of your lawn.
Required Service, on the other hand, is a service that the Pro needs to complete before they can mow your lawn. If you decline a Required Service, your mowing service will automatically be canceled.
What are the types of Required Services?
There are two types of Required Services:
-
General Cleanup - this is for when your yard has organic debris that will prevent your Pro from mowing such as limbs, branches, vines, etc. except grass.
-
Leaf Cleanup - this is for when there are too many leaves in your yard for your Pro to mow.
What if the lawn has inorganic debris?
Inorganic debris such as plastic, glass, bottles, furniture, or toxic materials like batteries and oil are considered property obstructions.
Does the Required Service include mowing?
A Cleanup does not include mowing or removing long grass from your yard.
What if the grass is too long?
If your Pro cannot mow due to long grass, they would report it as Long Grass.
Is the Required Service included in the lawn mowing price?
No, Required Service is charged separately.
Will I get notified if my Pro submitted a Required Service?
Yes, you will receive emails, push notifications, and SMS about the Required Service. If you do not review and approve the quote, your service will be canceled.
What will happen if I decline the Required Service?
If you decline the Required Service, your account will be canceled, as your Pro cannot service your lawn without doing this cleanup.
What will happen if the Required Service quote expires?
If the quote expires, your account will be canceled.
Is the price of the Required Work the same for all your Customers?
No, the quote will depend on a Pro's estimation of work which is why the price of a Required Work can vary from one Customer to another.
What happens to related services if the Required Service date changes/is rescheduled?
Q&A Pool Services
What is a required service?
- A Required Service refers to work that must be completed before a standard service can take place.
- It involves addressing pool conditions that prevent standard weekly cleaning from being performed effectively.
- Required Pool Services must fall outside of the scope of a one-time Deep Clean.
What is the difference between Required Service and Recommended Service?
- Recommended Pool Service is a service recommended by the Pro that aims to enhance pool appearance, water quality, and long-term maintenance efficiency.
- Required Pool Service, on the other hand, is a service that the Pro needs to complete before they can perform standard weekly cleaning. If the Customer declines a Required Pool Service, the weekly cleaning service will automatically be canceled.
What are the types of Required Pool Services?
- Excessive debris removal (leaves, branches, etc., that exceed normal weekly maintenance)
- Draining and cleaning pools in extremely poor condition
- Heavy staining requiring acid washing or treatment
What happens to related services if the Required Services date changes/reschedules?
- If the Required Pool Service date is moved earlier, the related weekly service will not change its scheduled dates.
- If the Required Pool Service date is moved later, the related weekly service will adjust accordingly to maintain the proper one-week gap between the deep clean and first maintenance service.
What if the pool equipment malfunctions?
- Equipment malfunctions such as broken pumps, cracked filters, or electrical issues are considered property issues, not cleaning issues.
- The Pro can complete the repairs if they are willing and able. If not, the Pro should report a Property Issue and recommend the customer contact a pool equipment specialist.
Does the Deep Clean include weekly maintenance?
- A Deep Clean does not include ongoing weekly maintenance services. It is a one-time intensive treatment that prepares the pool for regular maintenance.
Will Customers be notified if their Pro submits a Required Pool Service?
- Yes, customers will receive three emails, two push notifications, and an SMS about the Required Pool Service.
- If the quote is not reviewed and approved, the weekly cleaning service will be canceled.
What happens if the Customer declines the Required Pool Service quote?
- If the Customer declines the Required Pool Service, their account will be canceled, as the Pro cannot safely or effectively service their pool without completing the necessary treatment.
What if the Required Service is pending approval or approved, but the Customer wants a different Pro?
- The Customer will be matched with a new Pro and will receive a new quote if the Required Work still needs to be done.
What happens if the Required Pool Service quote expires?
- If the quote expires, the Customer's account will be canceled.
